Want to know the safest seat in a plane crash?  Hint: The more you pay, the more likely you’ll be among casualties.

In the midst of the news that there was a lone survivor in Tuesday’s Yemeni Airlines crash, there comes a study from Popular Mechanics writer and aviation expert David Nolan which found that the people sitting at the very rear of the plane (usually the less desirable ones due to their proximity to the head and galley) are more likely to walk away from a crash. The reason is simple: Planes usually hit the ground nose first.

If you’re one of the 20 million or so “pirates” who downloads copyrighted content on the file sharing site The Pirate Bay, you’re going to want to find another provider of illegal torrents. On Wednesday the founders announced they had taken the site as far as they could, and have decided to sell the site to a Swedish gaming firm for a cool $7 million.

We’re thinking the year in jail and the $4 million fine levied against them recently by a Swedish court also had something to do with it.

Read about the sale on Wired.com.

Audrina Partridge Patridge is apparently following the career path of the Hilton heiress. Just as Paris before her, she’s made an ad for Carl’s Jr., and soon she’ll be making her big screen debut in a horror movie – this one’s called Sorority Row.

We’re betting it won’t be on many critics’ top ten lists for 2009.

Watch the Carl’s Jr. ad here. And read about Audrina’s Hilton-esque career trajectory on MTV.com.
