From the folks behind the Les Amis du Fromage cheese stores, and named after a Loire Valley goat, it’s no surprise cheese rules within the dusty rose-coloured walls of Au Petit Chavignol. Offering roughly 20 cow, goat, sheep and mixed-milk varieties, ordered as singles or on tasting boards, these cheeses beg to be complemented with paper-thin slices of Spanish Jamón Ibérico de Bellotaan. For indulgence, nothing beats the house fondue’s mix of Emmenthal, Gruyère, Comté, and Beaufort served with cornichons, pickled onions, and heaps of cubed baguette.
